The Co-founder of SafeBoda, Ricky Papa Thompson has said the company is considering reviewing its terms and conditions again to address some of its consumers’ grievances.
This comes after public outrange following drastic new Terms and Conditions that were announced by the tech-savvy motorcycle transport application-oriented company on Tuesday this week.
In it's updated T&Cs, Safeboda particularly states, “We will not be liable for any damages, direct, incidental, and or consequential, arising out of the use of SafeBoda, including without limitation, damages arising out of communicating and or meeting with other participants of SafeBoda.”
“We have no responsibility whatsoever for the actions or conduct of any service providers or users. We have no obligation to intervene in any way in disputes that may arise between drivers, riders or third parties,” reads a section of the new T&Cs.
While appearing on RX’s 'The Fatboy show' on Friday, Thompson noted that the management was concerned with the kind of feedback they received from their customers and hence are considering reviewing the T&Cs again to maintain the trust and confidence of its customers.
“These terms and conditions have been the same, we just made a few changes. However, we are concerned with the reaction from the public and we are going to review the terms again. Safety and security of our customers is still very important to us and we want our customers to feel safe while using our services. These new terms made it seem like we did not care about our customers which is not true at all,” he said.
The company last year came into the spotlight after it was associated with illicit sharing of users’ data without consent. However, they were on February 02, 2021, exonerated through a National Information Technology Authority (NITA-U) report that said the company did not sell users’ data.
